VASCULAR & REDNESS

Red skin has more than one explanation.

Persistent facial redness can be related to dilated superficial vessels, rosacea, post-inflammatory erythema, heat sensitivity or other inflammatory conditions. The visible pattern, distribution and trigger history all contribute to understanding what is present before treatment is planned.

WHAT WE ASSESS

Multiple factors, not a single label.

Distribution

REDNESS PATTERN

Where redness is located — across the cheeks, around the nose, in response to heat — helps identify the underlying cause.

Visible Vessels

CALIBER & PATTERN

Vessel size, depth and distribution affect which vascular laser and parameters are appropriate.

Flushing Triggers

TRIGGER HISTORY

What makes the skin flush — temperature, foods, exercise — gives information about the type of redness present.

Inflammatory Signs

PAPULES & PUSTULES

Inflammatory papules or pustules alongside redness may indicate rosacea, which can also require medical skin care or medication alongside laser.

WHY ONE LASER IS NOT ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE

Different vessel characteristics need different approaches.

Vessel size, depth and the presence of inflammation can all require different parameters or treatment combinations. A single device setting applied to all redness is unlikely to produce consistent results across different patients.

Please note

Rosacea may require medical management alongside laser treatment. Treatment outcomes and number of sessions vary depending on the underlying cause of redness, vessel characteristics and individual skin response.
